Christ said repeatedly how He is the Son of God. More than just an act of humility His willingness to bare the sins of the world showed how Gods moral law would change the universe.  In the bible the word virtue is used in classical Greek to describe any quality that will draw out the finest view for a person. Later the word signified built-in value, moral Excellency, and goodness. It is used both of God  (1Pet 1:3-5), and persons (Phil 4:8).

“But all of you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, an exclusive people; that all of you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;” 1Pet 1:3-5

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil 4:8

“According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these all of you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;” 2Pet 1:3-5

Many scholars feel that in the bible time’s virtue (Grk.  Arêtes) was commonly used to refer to manifestations of God’s miracle power. Today it is not hard to see what power the miracle of the cross has done through salvation. So it is that as true believers in Christ we see the wonder of this virtuous act in that the Sprit of God may have the effect to empower us. Within this virtue is the active quality of the mind of Christ, the energy of which has the potency to heal the character, purify the soul, and perform dutiful love.

A response to our connection

There is a kind of spiritual imprint that we find in Jesus when we are part of the church body. No matter where we are when we receive Holy Spirit there is this lasting effect that connects us to each other. The sound that’s lingering is of heartfelt worship of those around us. The excitement of new truths being revealed, growing together with disciples that become lifelong friends, are things that should be closely cherished as the power of God.

How you stay connected to the Spirit is not as important as just staying connected. Your testimonies of how you have given your heart to serve God shows that you won’t ever be the same. Don’t waste another day give your life now, tomorrow, and forever.

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.”
– Revelation 22:14
