I'M AN ORIGINAL CATCHPHRASE

Leaving a Legacy of Sound Doctrine

Life itself is a learning process. Without God, it’s a school of hard knocks. With God, it’s a blessing.

It’s kind of ironic how we can spend an entire lifetime screwing up our minds with whatever, then in a few sober moments we receive Christ and think we got it all together. This is known as a minimalist view of salvation. You say the sinners prayer and then go right back to life, as usual, bam done deal.

The “D” in discipleship stands for discipline. A person’s life before Christ owes nothing to anybody least of all God. As our sense of wonder and enchantment from childhood begins to slips away to truth and certainty the unwelcomed challenge may hurt so much that the search to get it back can become obsessive. An excessive desire to be comforted cannot help us avoid reality.

Someone may say the reason I love this person is that we have this connection, we’re soul mates, we think alike. Or maybe it’s that we aspire or see something in someone that tells us it is in our benefit to become more like them.

Allowing the Holy Spirit to teach us is should be our ultimate goal in defining our belief system. We learn this in our summery and application of bible scripture. Much of this process has to do with meditating on God’s word.

The Need for Prayer

The mind will play tricks on you when you ignore the convictions of Holy Spirit. If our requests to God are not made we isolate the soul from the spirituality that glories in the Lord. Those who know love pray for one another.  (Phil. 4:6, 7). The spirit is a terrible thing to waste. -GV

“Prayer is far more complex than some make it out to be. There is much more involved than merely asking for something and receiving it. For every person who feels that prayer has not “worked” for them and has therefore abandoned God, there is someone else for whom prayer remains a vital part of their life, sustaining her even when her prayers have gone unanswered, because their belief and trust is not only in the power of prayer but in the character and wisdom of God.”  (Taken from Has Christianity Failed You? by RAVI ZACHARIAS.)
